Memory of Lyudmila Verbitskaya immortalized in Moscow

A memorial plaque perpetuating the memory of Lyudmila Verbitskaya has appeared in Moscow. This was announced by State Duma Deputy, First Deputy of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Chairman of the Board of the Russkiy Mir Foundation Vyacheslav Nikonov in his telegram channel.

The memorial sign was placed on the historical building of the Presidium of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.
 
The politician called Lyudmila Verbitskaya great person and a prominent citizen of Russia. He has no doubt that she was loved and respected by many - colleagues, students, the entire Russian world.

Lyudmila Verbitskaya was an outstanding Russian linguist and scientist. Nikonov recalled that she was the President of St. Petersburg State University, Honorary President of the Russian Academy of Education, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Russkiy Mir Foundation,a bright public figure, a beautiful and wise woman.

''Her fundamental knowledge, active life position, sincere concern for the support and development of the Russian language were highly valued not only at home, but also abroad,'' the parliamentarian emphasized.
