Bulgarians protest agaisnt providing military aid to Ukraine

Residents of Bulgaria come out to protest against intervention in the Ukrainian conflict and the provision of military assistance to Kyiv. On the eve of May 4, many people gathered in Sofia, the leader of the Russophiles for the Revival of the Fatherland party, Nikolai Malinov, told Russkiy Mir.

The Party called on fellow citizens to take actions of civil disobedience. A number of public organizations demanded the immediate resignation of the government.

The rally was held in front of the monument to the Soviet army, which the agitators for cooperation with Ukraine tried to wrap with Ukrainian flags. The protesters did not allow it.

The protest took place the same day the Bulgarian parliament made a decision to provide military and technical assistance to the Kyiv regime, RIA Novosti reports. The voting took the day before, on May 4. The topic was discussed for five hours. 200 deputies were in favor, 16 were against, one person abstained.
