Anna Belova is the finalist of Sheikh Zayed Book Award

An employee of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anna Belova became the finalist of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award. The prize was named after the first president of the United Arab Emirates, TASS reports.

This year, the organizers received about 3,000 applications from 55 states, which was a record for the award. Belova was noted for her ''Etymological Dictionary of Ancient Arabic Vocabulary.''

The results of the competition will be announced in April, the awards ceremony is scheduled for May 24 in Abu Dhabi. The prize fund will be almost two million dollars. Every year, within the framework of the award, authors of scientific and creative works on various topics, as well as translations, are awarded.
