The portrait of Fyodor Dostoevsky has been added to the walls of an educational institution in Italy, RIA Novosti reports. The fresco created by artist Yorit appeared on the facade of the building of the Righi Technical Institute in the Fuorigrotta district, Naples.

This way, the artist decided to respond to an attempt of one of the Italian universities to ban lectures on Dostoevsky's work.

The news about the cancellation of a lecture course on Dostoevsky by the famous researcher of his work Paolo Nori at the University of Milan caused a wide resonance. After criticism, the course was returned to the program.

According to Yorit, the censorship that reigned, albeit for a short time, instantly turned the author of "Demons", "The Brothers Karamazov", "Crime and Punishment" into a symbol of freedom of speech.

With his work, the artist wants to show that culture is free from ideological strife. He has no doubt that it is the universal value of humanity.
