A large-scale celebration of the International Theater Day takes place on March 27 in many regions of Russia. It was established in the early 60s of the 20th century as part of the congress of the International Theater Institute, CALEND.RU reports.

Theaters and drama schools have joined the Theater Night this year. Its program included premieres and popular performances, puppet concerts and readings. The audience was invited to participate in excursions backstage, master classes, marathons and an online festival.

In Moscow, the program included almost 150 events, 14,000 people took part in it.
