Tchaikovsky remains most popular Russian musician abroad

Pyotr Tchaikovsky once again became the absolute leader among Russian musicians who were popular with foreign listeners last year. Rauf & Faik and Morgenstern were also among the most often played musicians on the Spotify straming service, RIA Novosti reports.

Russian classics and Russian rap continue to remain in the playlists of foreign listeners, as shown by the lists of popular Russian musicians in recent years. Tchaikovsky retained his leading position in the current year, while Sergei Rachmaninov also entered the top 10, taking the eighth line.

The Izhevsk duo Rauf & Faik managed to outrun the rap artist Morgentsternand took the second line. Morgenstern moved up to third place. The top 10 also includes Tony Igy, JONY, the t.A.T.u group and other performers.

The songs of Russian performers continue to be among the most popular in Ukraine. According to the list of the most popular performers of the past year in Ukraine, the top lines were taken by Russian performers or Russian-speaking immigrants from other former republics of the USSR. There were no Ukrainian musicians among the leaders.
