London is hosting the 6th Russian Film Week. It is bringing to the UK over 40 films in different genres - from documentaries to action films, TASS reports.

The festival opened with the Captain Volkonogov Escaped drama by Alexei Chupov and Natasha Merkulova.  Devyatayev (Escape from Hell) by Timur Bekmambetov, Sin by Andrey Konchalovsky, Petrov's Flu by Kirill Serebrennikov are also in the program.

Founder and eneral producer of the festival Philippe Percon that the festival is being held offline again. According to him, it is too early to expect  that the number of viewers increase to the pre-pandemic rates, but face-to-face attendance in itself is a big plus. Two years ago, more than 13,000 people watched Russian films at the festival.

23 features, 19 short films and 3 documentaries are to be screened during the festival. The London forum remains the world's largest "panorama of Russian cinema" outside of Russia, Philippe Percon noted.

The festival will run until December 5.
