The World Health Organization has recommended using Russian AmpliTest diagnostic test kit as a reference method for diagnosing new cases of COVID-19, TASS reports, citing Russia’s Federal Medical Biological Agency (FMBA.)

This decision was made after the research conducted by the Robert Koch Institute confirmed the high effectiveness of AmpliTest.

According to the FMBA’s head, Veronika Skvortsova, the Russian test kits are among the most sensitive on the Russian and CIS markets.

The AmpliTest kit can detect the coronavirus RNA during the incubation period and in patients with no symptoms of the virus. The test kit was registered in Russia last July.
