The Final Stand war drama was recognized as the best film in a foreign language at the Crystal Palace International Film Festival (CPIFF). The festival has been held in London for over ten years, TASS reports.

The film (the Russian titile - Podolsk Cadets) by producers Igor Ugolnikov, Vadim Zadorozhny and director Vadim Shmelev was released in Russia in November 2020. The film tells about the feat of young cadets of the Podolsk infantry and artillery schools. In October 1941, they gave away their lives to stop the enemy's many times exceeding forces and did not let them enter Moscow. The film stars Sergei Bezrukov, Evgeny Dyatlov, Daria Ursulyak and others.

According to Ugolnikov, it is especially pleasant to receive the award on the eve of October 5, when the Podolsk cadets' Memorial Day is celebrated. This year marks 80 years of their great feat.
