The Russian Women's Junior National Team has won the volleyball world championship held in Mexico. The team includes girls under the age of 18. The Russians beat the Italian team with a score of 3: 0, TASS reports.

The Russian team proved to be invincible having won all eight games of the final round. It is the first win of the national team in 18 years, the last time junior players managed to score the victory in 1993.

Last October, the Russian junior team became the winner of the European Championship by defeating the Italian national team in the final.
