Russian beach soccer team won World Cup in Moscow

The players of the Russian national beach soccer team became world champions. In the final, the Russians defeated the Japanese national team with a score of 5:2. The national team for the 3rd time in its history won gold medals at the World Championships, RIA Novosti reports.

The World Championship was held in Moscow, bringing together the best teams of the planet. 

The fans will also remember the dramatic semi-final, in which the Russians met the Swiss. Losing during the meeting, the hosts leveled the score in a matter of seconds before the end of the meeting and snatched victory in the penalty shootout.

The Russians won the championship eight years after their previous success. Prior to that, the national team twice became world champions in beach soccer, having triumphantly completed the championship of the planet in 2011 and 2013.
