Russian schoolchildren won 5 gold medals at International Physics Olympiad

Russian schoolchildren won 5 medals at the International Physics Olympiad, RIA Novosti reports. The team repeated its last year's record. 

The tournament was organized by the University of Vilnius and was held online. 

The Russian team played at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Russia was represented by Muscovites Matvey Knyazev, Nikolay Kononenko, Artemy Noviko, Denis Ismagilov, Danila Samodelkin. Traditionally, the team includes the best participants in the All-Russian olympiad for schoolchildren in physics.

The competition was held in two stages, students had to show their skills in solving practical and theoretical problems.

About 500 people from 90 countries fought for the victory.
