Youth Club of Compatriots opens in Uganda

22.07.2021

The Uganda Youth Club of Compatriots is launched in Uganda, according to the Moscow House of Compatriots. The community page has also appeared on the Facebook.

Among people from Russian and ex-USSR countries, the club brings together those who are engaged in  Russian culture and want to study the Russian language.

The new association will work under the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad in Uganda. CCORC has been operating in the country since 2019 and works a lot on preserving  Russian language among compatriots and promoting it in Uganda. CCORC includes the Russian-African Foundation and the Association of Russian-Speaking Women Rosinka.

As Russkiy Mir reported, https://russkiymir.ru/en/news/289955/ The Rosinka Association of Russian-Speaking Women in Uganda held a conference on the study of the Russian language for the youth wing of the organization.

The future opening of the Russian language Center in Uganda was one of the topics discussed at the meeting by representatives of Vladimir State University and the Republic of Uganda Ambassador to the RF Johnson Agara Olwa. The ambassador noted that the authorities of the republic are interested in the education of the citizens of Uganda in Russia.
