The Russian Sputnik V vaccine has demonstrated very high efficiency during its use in San Marino, RIA Novosti reports. These are the conclusions reached by scientists from the Italian Institute of Spallanzani. The Roman National Institute of Infectious Diseases studied the results of the Sputnik V use in San Marino.

Preliminary data from the study showed that specific antibodies emerged during the third phase of the research, the statement said. Thus, there is an increased immunogenicity of the Russian vaccine, and in general, these data confirm the high efficiency of the vaccination campaign in the Republic of San Marino.

Almost all the residents of the republic who were vaccinated (90%) received Sputnik V.

According to Roberto Chawatta, who heads San Marino's Health, Social Policy and Safety Department, two studies of the Russian vaccine have been organized in the country. One was carried out by specialists from the University of Bologna. They analyzed the side effects and found that not a single serious one had ever been reported.
