Armenian musician Djivan Gasparyan passed away

The famous duduk master Djivan Gasparyan died at the age of 93, RIA Novosti reports. 

Gasparyan was born on October 12, 1928 in the village of Solak, Armenia. He began to play the duduk when he was six. Later, he became one of the most famous music performers on this instrument. Gasparyan created soundtracks for many Hollywood films, including: "The Last Temptation of Christ", "Gladiator", "The Da Vinci Code", "The Chronicles of Narnia", and others.

The musician was awarded four UNESCO medals and the Womex (World Music Expo) award.
