Russian-Chinese relations discussed at international conference

The "Russia and China: Cooperation in a New Era" international conference has begun work on Tuesday, June 1, according to the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC) website. The large-scale forum, which is called one of the main events in Russian-Chinese relations, is being held online.

The organizers are traditionally the RIAC and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS). The conference is being held within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the RIAC and CASS five years ago.

The forum is being held for the 6th time. Over the years of its existence, it has become a prominent event that brings together leading experts in various fields. Scientists, politicians, public figures, government officials discuss various aspects of bilateral relations between within the framework of the forum. 

This year the forum is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Treaty on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation between Russia and China. The agreement was signed twenty years ago by the heads of the two states, Vladimir Putin and Jiang Zeming. It contributes to the development and modernization of bilateral relations.

A collection of articles dedicated to this event will be presented at the conference.
