The American Merriam-Webster Dictionary has launched a quiz about the work of the writer Vladimir Nabokov. Participants need to find synonyms for the words used by Nabokov in his works, and to explain the meaning of the author's phrases. The quiz is published in English, Tengrinews.kz reports.

Merriam-Webster called Nabokov one of the most skillful prose writers of the last century. The writer is known for using complex vocabulary that often confuses some readers. The American publishing house claims that the author borrowed many words from the Merriam-Webster dictionary, which was especially loved by the writer.

The test used quotes from several works by Vladimir Nabokov. The quiz begins with a question about the novel Lolita and the expressions used by the main character of the work. The participant of the text is asked to choose the correct answer from four options. Points are awarded for correct answers. The site also lists the names of the quiz participants who showed the best results.
