Placido Domingo, Anna Netrebko, Khibla Gerzmava, Yusif Eyvazov and other world opera stars will take to the stage of the Bolshoi Theater, TASS reports. They perform parts in the premiere screenings of Verdi's opera Don Carlos. The first one is scheduled for Wednesday, April 14.
According to the director general of the theater, Vladimir Urin, the current performance can be called unique, since for the first time Placido Domingo will take part in the production of the Bolshoi Theater. Of course, added the head of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater, the famous tenor appears on the stage of the most famous Russian theater not for the first time, but a performance with the Bolshoi Theater artists will be his debut. The audience that comes to the performance tomorrow, April 15, will watch him perform the part of Rodrigo - one of the crown parts of Domingo.
The opera Don Carlos was staged at the Bolshoi 8 years ago, timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Verdi's birth. The director from Great Britain Adrian Noble worked on the play.
