Readers of the Le Figaro newspaper criticized the systematic pressure on Russia from the European Union, calling the claims "harassment." A sharp reaction from French Internet users was caused by the words of the head of the European Council Charles Michel, who set a number of conditions for improving relations between the EU and Moscow in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.

Readers of Le Figaro criticized the EU's stance on Russia, noting years of nagging and unfounded accusations against Moscow. A number of commentators called the reason for this situation that the EU leadership is unable to admit its mistakes and the ineffectiveness of past decisions.

Also, the readers spoke about the unfair attitude of Europe to the events in Ukraine, noting that Russia receives sanctions for violations of obligations committed by Kiev. A number of readers noted the negative impact of American policy on relations between Russia and the European Union.

During the conversation between Vladimir Putin and Charles Michel, the head of the European Council put forward a list of conditions for improving relations between Russia and the EU, and the Russian president noted the focus of the European Union at confrontation with Moscow.
