A large-scale gala concert in Irkutsk put the final point to the Stars on Baikal Festival. It took place the day before, on February 28, TASS reports. For more than 15 years, the famous pianist Denis Matsuev has been inviting world music stars to his small homeland.

Unfortunately, in 2020, due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the festival had to be postponed. But now it has become the 1st major event in the cultural life of the region after the ban on mass events was lifted. Tickets for concerts from the festival program were sold out in a few hours, as the events took place in half-filled halls.

Musicians from Russia, Austria, Armenia, Germany and other countries took part in the festival. The audience in Irkutsk heard the performances of the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Moscow Virtuosi ensemble conducted by Vladimir Spivakov. Violinist Yulian Rakhlin and pianist Denis Matsuev, soloists of the world opera Ildar Abdrazakov and Aida Garifullina performed with them.
