Three plots of land that surround the Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Nicholas, located in the center of Nice, were recognized as the property of Russia. The corresponding decision was made by the court the day before, on February 25, TASS reports.

The Cathedral of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Nice is the largest Russian Orthodox church abroad, one of the most famous and visited attractions on the French Riviera. At the same time, the Russian church, which is located on Rue Longchamp, and the Orthodox cemetery remained in the ownership of the Nice Orthodox Association (ACOR) "by the right of acquisitive prescription." Russian lawyers promised to appeal this decision.

Honorary Trustee of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Nice, head of the Romanov Fund for Russia, Princess Feodora Alekseevna expressed satisfaction with the court decision. According to her, she never doubted that this was Russian land.

Princess Romanova noted that after the church itself was returned to the ownership of Russia, noticeable changes took place there, an extensive restoration was completed.

The princess also expressed concern over the fate of the Kokad cemetery. There are the graves of many prominent figures of the Russian diaspora. Including at the cemetery there are burials of members of the House of Romanov.
