The anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad was celebrated in Great Britain, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports. Traditionally, this holiday unites Russian compatriots, local residents and representatives of other countries. All over the country flowers are laid at monuments, celebrations and exhibitions are organized. This year, the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of the disease have forced to hold the majority of events online.

The representatives of the British public association Forum of Twin Cities have brought flowers to the Volgograd memorial, erected on Coventry Square.

Everyone was invited to take part in an online meeting dedicated to the pilgrimage to the "Stalingrad Madonna". This is the name of the drawing of the German military doctor Kurt Reuber. He made it surrounded by Stalingrad. This work later became a symbol of international understanding. It serves as a sign of reconciliation and partnership, a reminder of the horrors of war, of the value of human life.
