The music saloon was launched at the Russian House in Melbourne. The management of the Russian House has compiled an extensive program of concerts of instrumental and vocal music, as well as creative premieres. One of them may be the performance of a one-act opera by Rimsky-Korsakov. The first concert is scheduled for February 14, according to the website of the Edinenie newspaper. Representatives of the Russian community noted the enormous contribution of Russian musical classics to the world cultural heritage.

An important step towards the opening of the music saloon was the purchase of a new grand piano by the Russian House committee last year, which made it possible to hold concerts of the highest level pianists. At the moment, the management of the cultural center has agreed on concerts with famous musicians and singers.

At the opening ceremony of the salon, which brought together Russian compatriots and musicians, it was announced that the famous Australian conductor, head of the Melbourne Chamber Choir Alan Cook, would become the artistic director of the salon.

The ceremony was attended by pianist, Honored Artist of Russia Anatoly Dokumentov and Moscow violinist Olga Vakusevich. The audience agreed that online concerts will not replace live performances.
