Participants from 70 countries wrote "Russian dictation"

More than 2,000 people from 70 countries have joined the "Russian dictation" action. It was conducted by the Kant Baltic Federal University, according to the website of the university. The dictation was written by representatives of China, Germany, Poland, France, India, Equatorial Guinea, Estonia, Armenia, Peru and other countries. The dictation was timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of Russian Students.

The “Russian Dictation” has long become an annual tradition, it has been held for 15 years, the first time it was organized in 2006. The current competition has become an anniversary one, this year the participants wrote a dictation online.

The university rector Alexander Fedorov called this competition a wonderful tradition. It allows meeting those who know and love Russian.

According to the organizers, "Russian Dictation" is not only a test of language skills. First of all, it is a meeting with a living Russian word and Russian text. The texts for the dictation were written by Denis Akhapkin, an expert on the work of Joseph Brodsky, associate professor at St. Petersburg State University.
