winners of the Russian language reading competition named in Turkey

Dozens of children and adults took part in the All-Turkish Reading Competition, timed to coincide with Mother's Day. The poems of Russian authors were read by participants from Russia, Turkey and Palestine, the jury included actors, philologists and other experts from Russia, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the competition was held online, according to the Rossotrudnichestvo website.

Poems and prose passages of Russian poets and writers were recited by preschool children, schoolchildren, teenagers and participants over eighteen years old. The winners were determined in six age categories.

The jury, in addition to professional actors from different countries, included Tatyana Vasilyeva, an employee of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Turkey, and a philologist, head of the Russian Language and Education Committee of the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots of Turkey Svetlana Ozgur, who is the author of the All-Turkish Reading Competition.

According to Svetlana Ozgur, the competition was born five years ago and has become a good tradition. This difficult year, the organizers also decided not to abandon the competition for Mother's Day.

The jury members evaluated the artistry and talent of the participants in conveying the meaning of the poem using the videos sent.
