An programme about the history of the Russian embassy in Berlin, which has been in the same place for almost 200 years, was released as part of the “Russian Germany. History in the Traces" radio series, reflecting the cultural and historical ties between Russia and Germany, the YouTube channel of the project reports . It became the first program in a series about Russian Berlin.

According to the radio program, the Russian embassy in Germany opened on Berlin's Unter den Linden street in 1837. During the era of Nicholas I, Russia acquired a mansion and land for Russian diplomats who came to Berlin. Today the Russian emperor is an honorary citizen of Berlin. After the reconstruction of the mansion, the Russian embassy became the largest among the diplomatic missions of the German capital.

Historical radio broadcasts about Russian traces in Germany are funded by the Presidential Grants Fund. The project was organized with the participation of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Berlin radio. As part of the cycle, videos have been released that tell about the role of Russians in the history of Berlin and many other cities and states of Germany. The authors covered a significant historical period starting from the 16th century.
