Sputnik over Poland Russian Film festival started online

Sputnik over Poland Film festival was launched on Saturday, December 12, TASS reports. The Russian Film Festival is being held for the 14th time, it has become a notable event in the cultural calendar of Warsaw. This time, due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, the film screening had to be transferred to the online format, it will last until December 20.

According to Malgorzata Skulskaya, who is the director of the festival, due to the pandemic, the organizers had to face many difficulties. Nevertheless, she noted, everything possible was done so that the audience could get acquainted with the new Russian films.

A special website has been created for the festival, where fans of Russian cinema will see more than 60 films. Among them are those who have collected an impressive number of awards at various Russian and international film festivals.

The program included Conference by Ivan Tverdovsky, Kitoboy by Philip Yuriev, Hypnosis by Valery Todorovsky.

Maria Popritsak's Blank Pages and the film almanac "33 words about design" are taking part in the documentary film competition. A new section this year is dedicated to debutant directors. Anton Kolomeyts' Your Tutor will be presented in this section.

The distance format did not interfere with the large-scale educational program. Discussions, master classes on writing reviews of films, classes for children are planned within the festival.
