About 400,000 foreigners passed comprehensive exam in Russian in 2020

The number of foreigners who have passed the comprehensive exam in the Russian language, history and fundamentals of Russian legislation this year was about 400,000. Such data was provided by Acting Director of the Federal Institute for Digital Transformation in Education Lyudmila Bokova, the Russian Education website reports.

The announcement was made during the QS Subject Summit on Languages ​​in the Context of Globalization. Lyudmila Bokova noted that educational activities were a priority in the program of social and cultural adaptation of foreigners. She spoke about tests, interviews and exams in the Russian language for foreigners. Educational procedures have been legislatively introduced in Russia, based on migration flows and geopolitical objectives of the country. One of these procedures is a comprehensive exam.

More than 1,000 training and testing centers are reported to be operating in the country. This year, about 400,000 foreigners have passed the exam, in addition, about 55,000 people have passed the linguodidactic test required to obtain Russian citizenship.

Lyudmila Bokova noted that the task for the future is to attract a wider circle of foreigners to study the Russian language, and work with children of migrants will take a special place in this direction.
