Rendezvous with Russia International Film Festival started on Monday, December 14, according to the website of the Moscow House of Compatriot. It is being held for the 11th time already and during all the years of its existence it presents the history, culture and nature of Russian regions, their tourism potential. Viewers are invited to travel around the country through film and television.

Two anniversaries were chosen as the main theme of the film forum. One of them is the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory, the second one - 200th anniversary of the discovery of Antarctica by Russian sailors. The unfavorable epidemiological situation forced to transfer the festival program to the online format.

The forum will open with "From Sadness to Joy" directed by Eduard Parri. The leading role is played by the famous actor Fyodor Dobronravov. He also acts as a producer.

The festival program unites three competitive nominations: "Chronicle of Russia" (films about the history of Russian regions, the most interesting historical, cultural and natural sites); "To Russia for Adventures" (films about any kind of travel and adventure, polar expeditions, round-the-world races, sea, air, and foot travel by all types of transport); "Frescoes of the North" (about famous people whose life and work were associated with this or that corner of Russia, about various religious movements and traditions, holy places and righteous people, monuments of religious culture).

The festival program includes not only screenings of documentaries. They are complemented by discussions of films and other events.
