Russian singer Leonid Agutin wins American song contest

Russian singer and composer Leonid Agutin won the USA Songwriting Competition. The song Just a Rainy Day, written by him together with the famous American guitarist Al Di Meola and producer Alex Sino, was recognized as the best in the World Performers nomination, RIA Novosti reports.

The organizers of the competition announced that the Russian singer became the winner among the ten finalists in this category.
On the eve of the announcement of the results of the competition, Agutin himself reported that he was also among the contenders.

The USA Songwriting Competition has been awarding performers and authors since 1996, this year the competition is being held for the 25th time. At the moment, the best in the nominations have been named, on November 25 the names of the three main winners will be announced. The winner of the Grand Prix will be awarded 50,000 dollars.

The song by Leonid Agutin, which brought him victory, is included in the new album by the artist - La Vida Cosmopolita, which is nominated for the prestigious Grammy Awards in five nominations.
