Contribution of Russian community to Korean society will be discussed at conference

"The Contribution of the Russian Community to the Korean Society" conference will be held on October 29 as part of the 10th Russian-Korean Friendship Festival - "The Million Scarlet Roses". The event is timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the Association of Russian Speakers in South Korea, the website of the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots Organizations in the Republic of Korea reports.

The conference will open with a report by the President of the Association, Tatyana Primakova, on the results of the organization's work over 10 years. Next, Elena Khmilevskaya, coordinator of the Asian and African programs of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, will tell about the Foundation's programs.

There will also be speeches dedicated to the adaptation of foreigners in South Korea, one of the reports will be read by an expert of the Seoul City Hall for Women and Families. Teacher Natalya Lim will talk about teaching Russian in local schools.

The Million Scarlet Roses Festival was one of the events celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Seoul. The program of the festival, which opened on October 12 and will last for a month, includes cultural, social, gastronomic and other events.
