48 Russian universities included in THE ranking

48 Russian universities were included in the Times Higher Education (THE) subject ranking, which takes into account indicators in eleven disciplines. Last year, Russia was represented in the ranking by 39 universities, Interfax reports.

According to THE, the best universities in Russia include the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, the Kazan Federal University and the National Research Nuclear University (MEPhI_. The Higher School of Economics also has good indicators, which is in the top 200 in several lists; it also became the only representative of the country in the Law category.

Moscow State University was named the leader of the rating among Russian universities, it was included in the first hundred in the "Physical Sciences" (81st place) and "Art and Humanities" (72nd place) categories. In addition, the capital's university has the best results among Russian universities in a number of other areas.

The rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy called the university's success in educational and scientific activities, as well as the cooperation of scientists, teachers and students, as the reason for the growth of the university's performance in the prestigious list.
