The Bonhams auction house is putting up for sale the icon of the Savior Not Made by Hands, TASS reports. The work of Mikhail Nesterov will become the top lot of the Russian auction, which will take place in a month. They are scheduled for November 25 in London. The preliminary estimate of the work of the famous Russian artist exceeds 130,000 dollars.

The work is a reduced copy of the author's mosaic. Nesterov created it for the western facade of the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God of the Moscow Martha-Mariinsky convent.

In addition, fans of Russian art will be offered to purchase the work of Vasily Surikov. This is a sketch for his painting "The Conquest of Siberia by Yermak Timofeevich". The artist depicted a banner from the arsenal of the Moscow Kremlin with the face of Jesus Christ. The estimate reaches 90,000 dollars.

Mikhail Larionov's Still Life with Fish and Flowers, which was valued at more than 100,000 dollars, will go under the hammer. The canvas symbolizes the artist's transition from French impressionism to the so-called Russian neo-primitivism.

Collectors will be able to buy clocks made of jade and precious metals by the famous Carl Faberge.

Traditionally, the Russian week is held in Britain twice a year: in spring and autumn. It brings together the auction houses of Sotheby's, MacDougall's, Christie's and Bonhams. Last year, the proceeds of trades in Russian art amounted to almost 49 million dollars.
