Day of Tatar Culture held in Germany

The Day of Tatar Culture was held in Leipzig as part of the Week of International Culture. The audience got acquainted with the traditional culture of Tatarstan during a four-hour open-air concert. Despite the pouring rain, the concert attracted more than 200 people. According to the organizers, next year it is planned to hold the Tatar folk holiday Sabantuy in Germany, the Russkoe Pole reports.
 
The holiday was opened by the Consul General of Russia in Leipzig Andrey Dronov and the representative of Tatarstan in Germany Takhir Gataulin, the event was hosted by representatives of the Union of Tatars in Germany. Performers from Russian-speaking ensembles, sections and clubs from several cities in Germany took the stage. Tatar musicians living in Germany also performed.

In addition to the creative part, the program included gastronomic and entertainment pages. Guests could taste traditional Tatar cuisine and learn how to shoot a bow.

The organizer of the festival of Tatar culture was the Society for the Support of Culture and Art, the event was held with the support of the Russian Embassy in Germany, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Tatarstan representative office in Germany, as well as the Leipzig authorities and German organizations.
