The traditional Cyprus - Russia Gala concert took place last weekend. The big charity concert brings together Russian, Cypriot and Greek artists, TASS reports.

The large-scale action has been held for almost 10,5 years; this year it was organized for the 14th time. Over the years, the event has become one of the brightest symbols of the relations that have developed between Cyprus and Russia, the preservation and development of historical, cultural and other ties.

London-based Ensemble Productions is the regular organizer of the evening. According to its head Olga Balakleets it was decided not to postpone the concert until next year, but to hold it online. Numerous spectators joined the action, they registered and purchased tickets.

All proceeds from the sale of tickets were transferred to the account of the oldest charitable organization of the island - the Radiomarathon Foundation - in favor of children with disabilities and their families.

The concert was opened by the first lady of Cyprus, Andri Anastasiadi, under whose patronage the gala concert has been going on for many years.

Olga Bakaleets noted that the lineup of performers changed from year to year, but the current concert is special. Therefore, among the participants there are many artists who have already performed at such evenings.
