Yesenin Week to be held in Jordan

The conference, reading marathon, music evening and other events were included in the online program of the Yesenin Week, which will be held in Jordan from September 27 to October 3 as part of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of Sergei Yesenin, the Coordinating Council of Compatriots Organizations in Jordan reports on Facebook.

Yesenin Week will open with the international online conference. The event will be attended by Deputy Director of the Sergei Yesenin Museum in his native village of Konstantinovo, Irina Agapova, as well as researchers of the poet's work from Kazakhstan and Transnistria.

On the second and third days of the week, literary debates and a musical evening dedicated to the work of Sergei Yesenin are planned. The week of memory of the Russian poet will end with an informative online meeting for teenagers about Yesenin's life and work, as well as a reading marathon of his poems, which will be held live.

The series of events was co-organized by the literary clubs of Jordan and the children's reading club. To participate in the events of the program, one must send an application to the organizers at ksorsiordania@yandex.ru or zellampa2020@gmail.com.
