Russian-speaking club Et Cetera in Toronto opens new season of poetry meetings

The Russian-speaking club Et Cetera from Toronto, delighting Russian compatriots from different countries with poetry programs, opens a new season of creative meetings. Bright Russian-speaking poets from Australia and Germany will take part in the September events, according to the press service of organizations of Russian compatriots in Canada.

The new season will open on September 22 with a creative meeting with the poetess Inga Daugaviete, who was born in Riga, but has been living in Melbourne for a quarter of a century. The series will continue on September  26 with a performance by Mikhail Sherba from Germany.

Both writers invited by the Canadian club are outstanding Russian-speaking poets. At September meetings, guests are also welcome to read their poems. 

The Et Cetera club held a recital at the end of May dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Joseph Brodsky. As part of the event, the poet's works and songs based on his poems were performed. Actors from the Russian Theater of Calgary took part in the creative evening.
