Students from 47 countries take part in international festival in Penza

The Lastochka Festival of Youth and Students has started in Penza, the Argumenty i Fakty newspaper writes. The city, located on the Sura River, hosts it for the second year in a row.

The opening ceremony began with a festive procession. Students from foreign countries, who are studying at local higher educational institutions, walked along the main street. They represent 47 countries. They were joined by representatives of regional youth public organizations. The number of participants and guests of the forum is expected to reach 10,000.

The festival brought together several major events, including the Dialogue of Cultures international student forum and the Firebird-Penza all-Russian cultural and educational forum. In addition, a regional rally of youth army units will take place under the auspices of the festival.
