Eurasia Global Forum launches Young Compatriots platform

The international Eurasia Global youth forum has ended in Orenburg. Its closing ceremony took place the day before, on September 7. It gave a start to the work of the Young Compatriots automated information system (AIS), TASS reports.

The head of Rosmolodezh, Alexander Bugaev, expressed confidence that the young generation of immigrants from Russia living in other countries needed their own platform for communication. According to him, they are united by common interests and common difficulties. Alexander Bugaev noted that young people need support from Russia. In addition, AIS also has an educational function.

Alexander Bugaev said that the idea of ​​creating such a platform belonged to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The work has been going on for several years, young people at the Eurasia forum took part in it. The developers received more than 250 proposals from potential users. Almost half of the changes have already been made and the system is still being improved.

The platform present regulations and laws, and information about the Russian higher education. These materials are complemented by a calendar of events. Registration on the site is available to any compatriot over 14 years old. They will be assigned one of three statuses: Observer, Active user or Mentor.

Almost 30 forum participants received grants from Rosmolodezh for the implementation of their projects. The total amount of grant support is about 12 million rubles.

For foreign participants, the grant competition was held by the Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Support Fund. It supported seven applications from activists from Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the United States, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Morocco and the DPR.
