The anniversary of the flight into space of the dogs Belka and Strelka are planned to be celebrated in the Russian capital, according to the website of the mayor of Moscow.

Various events will take place at VDNKh exhibition center. Everyone will be invited to the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center on August, 19. The organizers promise guided tours and film screenings.

The flight of Belka and Strelka took place 60 years ago. The dogs spent more than a day in near-earth orbit. During this time, the spacecraft circled the Earth 17 times and landed safely.

Several thematic tours in the center are scheduled for August, 19. Guests will be invited to the Kulibin Pro lecture hall to watch Animals in Space, which was filmed at the Roscosmos television studio. The film explains how the animals were prepared for space flights, how engineers and designers created aircraft for them.

The organizers assured that the Cosmonautics and Aviation Center strictly observes all security measures. Excursion groups include no more than 5 people. The maximum number of viewers at the shows does not exceed 40 people.
