Summer School for foreign students to open in Moscow

Summer School for foreign students will open in Moscow.  It is going to introduce the sudents to the history and culture of Russia, as well as tell about the current life of the country. The classes, which will be held from 10 to 22 August, will be attended by students from Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.

The Summer School students passed the selection, which lasted about two months. Students from more than 30 metropolitan universities from 47 countries wished to participate in the classes. The listeners want to get to know Russia better and make new friends.

The program of the school is entitled Understanding Russia: Events, People, Ideas; listeners will be offered lectures, city tours, meetings with experts and other events. It is reported that the participants of the Summer School will not only get acquainted with the sights of the capital, but will also learn to play chess and find out why they are so popular in Russia, see handicrafts and listen to craftsmen' stories.
