About 2.5 million French viewers watched film about Moscow Kremlin

About 2,5 million French TV viewers watched the If the Kremlin Walls Could Speak documentary, TASS reports. The film about the Moscow Kremlin was shown on the French TV channel for almost two hours. According to the film's director Saskia Weber, it will be shown once again tonight. It was included in the program of the  France 2 national TV channel.

The director explained that this is not the first time she turns to Russian history, since she spent several years in Russia as a journalist.

Saskia Weber acted not only as director of the film, but also wrote the script herself. The creator of the film added that it entered a new cycle dedicated to the state residences of the leading countries of the world. Weber called the task set before her quite difficult. She recalled that the Kremlin is the only state residence in the world, which is more than 8 centuries old.

While working on the film, the director had to study a lot of archival materials, telechronicle, video recordings. The director thanked the staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia, all Moscow colleagues for helping her to see the Kremlin interiors with her own eyes.

Head of the French Academy Hélène Carrère d'Encausse also worked on the film. She wrote 30 monographs about Russia. She was joined by a professor at the Sorbonne, renowned Russian historian Marie-Pierre Rey.
