Representatives of the twin cities of Russia and the UK held an online meeting, where they shared ideas for joint projects and outlined steps to develop cooperation. The virtual meeting was organized by the Society of Twin Towns of Volgograd and Coventry, according to the website of the Moscow Compatriot House.

Representatives of Moscow, Volgograd, Yaroslavl, Sochi, Kostroma, London, Coventry, Canterbury and other cities took part in the discussion. The participants spoke about ideas for organizing joint actions and competitions, stressed the importance of resuming cooperation between the former twin cities of the two countries.

The meeting turned out to be productive - the parties agreed on activities to promote the twinning movement and planned a number of projects, including the anniversaries of twinning relations between cities.

Volgograd and Coventry became twin cities during the Second World War. The inhabitants of the cities that suffered from the attacks of the Nazis supported each other in word and deed. The cities are still linked by close friendly relations.
