The Higher School of Economics, Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology have become leaders in the Forbes rating of the 100 best Russian universities. One non-capital university - the Ural Federal University - has entered the top-5, RIA Novosti reports.

In 2019, the first place in the ranking was taken by MISiS, which went down to the 16th line this year. This is due to the fact that the authors of the study changed the rating methodology. A new parameter - Quality of teachers - was introduced, and the International Activity indicator now calculates the share of foreign students, the number of foreign internships and cooperation with universities from other countries in the framework of double diploma programs.

Last year, the Forbes ranking included MISiS, MGIMO and MIPT in the top three universities in the country based on the quality of education (the main indicator), the demand for graduates in the labor market and the share of entrepreneurs among graduates.
