The Andrei Stenin contest of young photojournalists has announced the finalists, the Kultura TV channel reports. The shortlist includes photographers from Russia, Germany, the USA, Spain, Iran and other countries. They were joined for the first time by participants from the UK, Austria, Argentina, Brazil and Haiti.

The competition received more than 5,000 works. They were sent by participants from 75 countries from all over the planet. The representatives of 19 countries made it to the finale.

According to the organizers, from year to year the level of photographs is growing. This time, all the works are distinguished by the extraordinary visual beauty. Many photographers turn their eyes to social issues, to the most acute problems of modern society, from political clashes to environmental topics.

The current season of the competition had already become the sixth in a row.

Andrei Stenin died on August 6, 2014 near Donetsk, completing an editorial assignment. The competition is designed to preserve the memory of him. Its other goal is to support young photojournalists and open the way for them to the world of big photography.

Over the years of its existence, this competition has turned into a large international platform where everyone has the opportunity to express their own opinions.
