Russian-speaking residents of Brooklyn organize street patrols to protect themselves from provocateurs and looters, RIA Novosti reports. Activists drive cars and motorbikes around the territory and report suspicious persons or objects to the police.

According to Isaac Boltyansky, who became one of the initiators of the movement, looters join the protesters against the murder of George Floyd. The reason for the riots that have been going on in the United States for several days now was the murder of the black American by police in Minneapolis. He was strangled in front of numerous witnesses. This monstrous incident caused a wave of protests throughout the whole country.

Isaac Boltyansky said that some entrepreneurs had already received anonymous messages with a proposal to leave the area if they did not support the protesters.

The activist noted that the Russian-speaking community does not like what is happening today in Manhattan and Bronx. Therefore, representatives of the community decided to organize a national squad, because "the changes begin not in the White House, not in the governor’s mansion."

The representatives of the community reported that they had appealed to the mayor of New York to provide greater freedom for the police to act against criminally involved protesters. Otherwise, the community wants to ask the governor to send parts of the National Guard to the city.
