Readers from four countries took part in an audio performance based on the verses of Joseph Brodsky, which aired on the Russian-language online radio in Canada. The winners of the international competition held by the Et Cetera Club of Physicists and Lyrics from Toronto on the occasion of the poet’s 80th anniversary were given the opportunity to read the poet’s works and perform songs on his poems before a large audience, the press service of the organizations of Russian compatriots of Canada reports.

An audio performance dedicated to the poetry of Joseph Brodsky was broadcast by Radio Talk. Representatives of other Russian-speaking groups took part in the organization of the competition for the recitation of poetry poems and songs for his texts.

Events in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Russian classic are held in Russia and other countries. The Gorky Moscow Art Theater will launch a program dedicated to Brodsky’s life and work on the poet’s birthday, May 24. People who were friends with the poet, researchers of his work, modern authors and actors will go on the air.
