Brodsky's online marathon will last for six months

Brodsky Online Marathon starts in early summer. It will be dedicated to the anniversary of the famous poet Joseph Brodsky, according to the site of the Year of Literature. This year marks the 80th anniversary of his birth. Every week for six months, the project site will be updated with new videos. Brodsky’s poetic lines will be read by writers, directors, musicians, actors, artists, publishers. Not only Russian cultural figures, but also representatives of other countries will join the project.

According to Dmitry Milkov, one of the authors of the idea, the project brings different people together. One of them was personally acquainted with the Nobel laureate, most of them know only his work. The project is designed to emphasize that the poet’s legacy remains important and beloved for people of different generations and professions, opposite fates and biographies.

The project was established by the St. Petersburg publishing house Vita Nova and the DK Gromov art space with the participation of the Anna Akhmatova Museum in the Fountain House and the assistance of the Joseph Brodsky Asset Management Fund.
