Performances for kids to be shown as part of Big Tours Online

The week of youth performances starts on Monday, May 25, as part of the Big Tours Online Project, the website of the Ministry of Culture reports. It is dedicated to Children's Day, which will be celebrated on June 1.

The launch of the project in late March was associated with the temporary closure of theaters due to the coronavirus pandemic. Online shows of productions quickly gained popularity. In the first week, performances gathered over a million views. The broadcasts are held on YouTube, the project's website and in social networks. The daily audience of performances is about 300,000 people.

Children's theaters from St. Petersburg, Barnaul, Irkutsk and other cities are now going to join the project. Productions based on works by Wilde, Chekhov, Andersen, Pushkin, Tolstoy are icluded into the program.

Four performances will be broadcast live. Actors will take the stage specially for the young spectators of the Big Tour Online Project. The Moscow Children's Chamber Puppet Theater will present Resistant Tin Soldier, the Moscow Regional Puppet Theater - Sunbeam. The live broadcasts will also include screenings of the St. Petersburg Bolshoi Puppet Theater's Kolobok and the Altai State Puppet Theater's Bogatyr Stepan Romashkin.

On May 25, the Et Ceter Theater will present Star Child based on the play by Oscar Wilde.
