Two dozen projects will fight for victory at an inter-museum competition, which will be held as part of the Intermuseum festival, the website of the Ministry of Culture reports. They are presented by 18 Russian museums.

The jury, led by the director of the Pushkin Museum Evgeny Bogatyrev, will determine the best in four categories. These are “Educational and outreach activities”, “Research and restoration work”, “Interregional interaction” and “Work with special audiences”.

Federal and regional museums, reserves and memorials are among the finalists. The list includes the Russian Museum, the Perm Art Gallery, the Darwin Museum, the Battle of Stalingrad Museum-Reserve, the Victory Museum, the Ulyanovsk Museum of Local Lore and many others.

The festival is held online this year. It will open on May 27. At least 360 museums are going to take part in it.

The festival program promises to be large-scale and eventful. It will include business part webinars and an interactive museum exposition. The inter-museum competition will practically not change its traditional format. The size of the monetary prize remained the same.

The work of institutions to preserve the memory of the Great Patriotic War and to restore cultural heritage sites directly during the hostilities will be shown on the virtual stands. The theme of this year’s show is Keepers of the World.

Russkiy Mir reported the Intermuseum International Festival is the only festival in the world that brings together professional museum workers. Over the years, it has turned into an effective platform for communication between members of the museum community. The most interesting inter-museum projects of leading Russian museums are presented within the framework of the festival. Discussions, round tables, seminars and many other events and actions are held, where leading Russian and foreign experts get acquainted with the best museum experience.
